डीआरडीओ और भारतीय वायुसेना ने ओडिशा में स्वदेशी अस्त्र मिसाइल का किया सफल परीक्षण
✅ रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास संगठन (डीआरडीओ) और भारतीय वायु सेना (आईएएफ) ने 11 जुलाई, 2025 को ओडिशा के तट पर सुखोई-30 एमके-I प्लेटफॉर्म से स्वदेशी रेडियो फ्रीक्वेंसी (आरएफ) सीकर से लैस, दृश्य सीमा से परे हवा से हवा में मार करने वाली मिसाइल (बीवीआरएएएम) 'अस्त्र' का सफलतापूर्वक उड़ान परीक्षण किया।
✅ अस्त्र बीवीआरएएएम की मारक क्षमता 100 किलोमीटर से अधिक है और यह अत्याधुनिक मार्गदर्शन और नेविगेशन प्रणाली से सुसज्जित है। डीआरडीओ की विभिन्न प्रयोगशालाओं के अलावा, हिंदुस्तान एयरोनॉटिक्स लिमिटेड सहित 50 से अधिक सार्वजनिक और निजी उद्योगों ने इस हथियार प्रणाली के सफल निर्माण में योगदान दिया है।
✅ रक्षा मंत्रालय ने अस्त्र मार्क-1 की आपूर्ति के लिये हैदराबाद स्थित सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की ‘भारत डायनेमिक्स लिमिटेड’ (BDL) कंपनी के साथ 2,971 करोड़ रुपए की लागत के साथ एक अनुबंध पर हस्ताक्षर किये हैं।
✅ अस्त्र परियोजना आधिकारिक तौर पर 2000 के दशक में शुरू की गई थी। वर्ष 2017 के आसपास अस्त्र मार्क-1 मिसाइल संस्करण का विकास चरण पूरा हो गया था। वर्ष 2017 से अब तक सुखोई-30 एमकेआई से इसके कई सफल परीक्षण किये जा चुके हैं।

✅ Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Indian Air Force (IAF) successfully flight tested beyond visual range air-to-air missile (BVRAAM) 'Astra', equipped with indigenous radio frequency (RF) seeker from Sukhoi-30 MK-I platform off the coast of Odisha on July 11, 2025
✅ Astra BVRAAM has a range of over 100 kilometres and is equipped with a state-of-the-art guidance and navigation system. Apart from various laboratories of DRDO, more than 50 public and private industries including Hindustan Aeronautics Limited have contributed to the successful manufacturing of this weapon system.
✅ Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Hyderabad-based public sector ‘Bharat Dynamics Limited’ (BDL) company for the supply of Astra Mark-1 with a cost of Rs 2,971 crore.
✅ Astra project was officially launched in the 2000's. Around the year 2017, the development phase of the Astra Mark-1 missile version was completed. Since the year 2017, it has been subjected to many successful tests with Sukhoi-30 MKI.
