Jharkhand Academic Council, Ranchi has released a notification on its official website for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JHTET) 2026. The JHTET application form has started on 21 April 2026, and candidates can apply until 21 May 2026. Eligibility Criteria
Primary Level Class 1-5
Candidates must have 10+2 Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and must have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C. / D.El.Ed.), or10+2 with at least 45% marks with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (as per NCTE 2002 norms). Alternatively, candidates may have 10+2 with at least 50% marks and be appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.), or10+2 with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C. / D.El.Ed.) are also eligible.
Junior Level Class 6-8
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) and must have passed or be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C. / D.El.Ed.), or a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of B.Ed. / L.T. / Shiksha Shastri (Regular). Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 45% marks and B.Ed. (as per NCTE norms) are also eligible.
Alternatively, candidates who have 10+2 Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and are appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.), or a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed program are eligible. Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks and B.Ed. (Special Education), or those having a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks along with a 3-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. course, are also eligible.
